Cathy
Blackburn, principal
of Cathy Blackburn Design, has over twenty years experience in design. What
she brings to the marketplace
is a strong clean design sensibility, great organization,
and the skill to inspire the marketing team and create continuity
in the message.
BIO: With
a BFA in Visual Design, her career began in advertising
at Milici/Valenti DDB-Hawaii followed by years of focused 3D
design at Media Five Architects, working on large-scale hotel,
civic,
and corporate
projects in the Pacific Rim. After moving to Seattle and working
as a consultant, {and raising three wonderful boys
with her
husband}, Cathy
joined
the Frye
Art Museum in Seattle as chief museum designer. Totally
in love with the art, she and her staff created all design
and
marketing for the museum and its exhibitions, winning
awards and recognition for print and exhibition
design, assisting the museum to meet attendance goals and gain
AAM accreditation. After 100 fabulous Frye exhibitions, Cathy
left to complete
her
graduate
degree in
Cultural
Resources
Management and founded Cathy Blackburn Design -- the culmination of her
education, experience, and passion.

process My design process
begins with Client interviews and reviews of
existing marketing
material and plans. An abbreviated SWOT analysis
is discussed, followed by the development of a
phased project plan and schedule. Getting clear
on the objectives of our project is essential.
